Bespoke sliding door wardrobes - what dimensions should a recess have?

Of course, the dimensions of the wardrobe should be adjusted to the needs it is supposed to meet. The possibilities of building a recess are practically unlimited in terms of dimensions, as it can be made to virtually any size. While the built-in wardrobe in the bathroom can be 30 or even 15cm deep, the wardrobe in which we want to keep clothes on hangers should be placed in a recess 60-70cm deep. When considering the depth of the wardrobe or cabinet, remember to take into account the thickness of the door - depending on the solution, it may be 5cm (this is the amount of space you need for a glass, hinged door) or 8 cm (this is how much you need to increase the depth of the recess when planning a sliding door on the double track).

How to plan a made to measure sliding door wardrobe?

In order to fully and ergonomically plan your new wardrobe, it is always good to carefully measure the items that we will store in it, assess their quantity and pay attention to possible even small surplus space for development - it may turn out that, for example, a small vertical gap it will allow us to store a ladder or an ironing board in the closet.

How to choose a sliding doors to the wardrobe?

The general rule is to select the colors and materials of the sliding doors to suit the character and design of the interior. So we match the color and material to the furniture we already have. If our house has a bright, Scandinavian style, we should not choose brown or dark sliding doors. Remember that if you choose a sliding wardrobe for a small room, it is worth considering the use of glass or mirror elements in it. Thanks to this trick, we can visually enlarge the room or make it brighter. Mirrors are also a perfect solution for door fronts in the bedroom, wardrobe or hall. Thanks to them, we will be able to quickly check our appearance before leaving the house. An important element when choosing sliding doors is their colors. And here again we must use common sense. Therefore, for small rooms, we do not choose too dark colors, but rather light or glass material, which will reflect the light and brighten the room.
